Q. What is the difference between translation and interpretation?

Q. What qualifications do I need to possess to become a translator?
A. Our translators have been assessed for their language skills in both the translation languages, as well as grammar, translation skills, knowledge of terms and concepts, computer and document formatting ability, and demonstrated understanding of the ethics of translation. Many of our expert linguists are A.T.A. (American Translators Association) certified or degreed linguists from prestigious international Universities. Many have undergone a rigorous exam and meet continuing education requirements related to their credentials.

Q. What is a certified A.T.A. certified translator?
A. A translator who is A.T.A. certified (American Translators Association) has successfully passed a certification. exam in a language pair (i.e., one specific source language and one specific target language), and met educational and ethical requirements. The eligibility requirements to take the exam are high. The A.T.A. exam is currently available from Arabic, Croatian, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish to English and from English into Chinese, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.

Q. How much should I charge for my translation services?
A. Our translation fees are determined by the rates that we charge our clients. Translation charges vary on the type of document being translated, the project's deadline, the formatting requirements, and the language pairing. Before accepting any translation assignment, make sure you have reached an agreement with the document coordinator regarding the price, the document's return date, and any formatting charges as the price cannot be changed once you have accepted an assignment.
