Founded in 1988 in Northern California by a College Language Professor and subsequently led by a retired United Nations Interpreter, Language People provides professional interpreting services to any individual in need of communication access. We are one of the largest and oldest interpreting agencies in the U.s., providing services to thousands of individuals each year. We currently serve over 1000 clients and work with over 6,000 interpreting professionals.

 

Not all languages are alike. Providing Sign Language interpreting services is very different than providing spoken language interpreting services, and requires a deep understanding of many issues which affect quality of experience for both interpreters and for the Deaf Consumer. As one of the largest agencies providing Sign Language Interpreting throughout the United States for 20 years, we have created a unique division of our company called Sign Language People, designed specifically to work with Sign Language Services. Our staff is trained in the specialty of delivering excellent care to the Deaf, our Sign Language Interpreters, and our customers.

 

This specialization gives us the opportunity to devote undivided and individualized attention to the needs of the Deaf and Sign Language Interpreters.
